Sunday Brunch

Alexander's eating his first child's plate while having Sunday Brunch with Uncle James, mommy, and daddy at Cheesecake Factory! He's very well-behaved enjoying his banana.

caught!

While celebrating Grandma & Grandpa's surprise 40th wedding anniversary getaway to Santa Barbara wine country, Mommy caught Alexander horsing around in the Chinook! We think Alexander loves the Chinook as much as Mommy!

alexander started making some new sounds this week (and since i took these videos he's added b and m to his sounds), but capturing them on video can be challenging; he's way more interested in the machine and stops whatever he's doing. i'm going to leave these in their native resolution, which is too large to display in the same window, so when you click on the link, it'll open in a new window. UPDATE: apparently some people can't load these videos, which work fine on my computer. so, I'll endeavor to figure it out.

aaa says na!

aaa says nana!

up and up

with his increased mobility came increased curiosity, which he's now able to satisfy as he can actually get to those places. the other day he discovered the stairs. now he wants to climb them. yay me!

they're here!

noticed this the other day, but today we finally got a really good look and were able to snap a shot.

looks like we'll be seeing a tooth pretty soon here. you can definitely feel 'em that's for sure!

about a week before he started walking crawling Alexander starting the sitting up process. this video, from just a couple of days before he crawled successfully, shows his mastery of sitting up. now when he wakes up he's often sitting up waiting for me! freedom!!

We knew the day would soon arrive and it has. For the last couple of weeks, Alexander has been revving up, trying to steady himself on all fours, getting his body conditioned for the coordination it takes to accomplish the next milestone: crawling.  And this evening our lil boy did it!! Our 7.75 month old has a new-found freedom.  The freedom to roam around his world and discover whether the world is flat or round - oh wait, that's already been proven - and even, though he IS a genius - well, just nevermind. ; ) Here's video we took of his first steps on all fours. Yay? Scary? Yes to both but it's just the beginning of what's to come and we're looking forward to the adventure that is AAA!
